The beauty of a rare art form dating back to 16th-century Europe comes alive again at the 2013 SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival.

An annual tradition nearly as old as the university itself, the SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival offers students, alumni and prospective students an opportunity to create temporary chalk masterpieces on the paved walkways of Savannah's scenic Forsyth Park every spring.

Open-air gallery

The public, from near and far, is invited to visit the inspiring scene of chalk-covered SCAD artists transforming the park into an outdoor museum of jaw-dropping street paintings.

Photos allowed

Admission is free, and photo opportunities present themselves with every step.

People's choice

For the first year, the SCAD community and general public can vote for their favorite piece of chalk art. Look for signs at the event with the text-to-vote number.

Going global

The Hong Kong community can now share in the excitement of the SCAD chalk-art competition.
